I was once asked what I liked most about my journeyman roofer job. Being in my early twenties I responded that it allowed me to have long hair. That phase in my life didn’t last too long. The questioner responded that he thought I would say the views I get to enjoy because my job allowed me to see things many people never have the opportunity to. Now that I’m roofing in Vancouver, and have gotten out of the hair-first phase, the views are more noticeably appealing and worthy of note. Take today’s job as an example. We were doing skylight maintenance on a concrete tile roof in West Vancouver. I took a minute enjoyed the view and got back to work. Now if only I could afford the house that offered the view daily.
