Today we were working in Port Moody doing repairs to a hidden gutter system. The temperatures are now warm enough that we can put our patches down and ensure our contact adhesive performs in these membrane gutters. We usually shut down these EPDM repairs between mid-November and May due to cold temperatures. We also typically do the entire gutter system on a house. Why just do the ones that are actively leaking if they are all done the same way and you know some details – usually corners and drains – are already failing. But in this case it was my suggestion that we only do active leaks. You see the Homeowner is doing an extensive renovation inside. He knows he has to do the whole gutter system but the current dollars are being eaten by the inside renovations. Hopefully he comes in on budget and has some reserve money to complete the houses concealed gutters. They sure aren’t going to get any better!
