Today took us into Vancouver to find a leak on a balcony. To be specific it was a Strata lot in Gastown. We had to disassemble the existing roof system, to expose the membrane below, so we could inspect it for deficiencies. There were paving stones to remove, filter cloth, 4″ insulation and drainage mat. It all had to be removed so we could find the leak and fix it. Turns out the leak was in a deep corner where the original installer didn’t waterproof high enough up the vertical. This puppy was leaking since Day 1… but only when the water could actually reach deep into this corner. I love finding leaks. The challenge is always different and it tests my process and logical thinking. Bring them on! I will travel.
